Our enhanced Audi/VW interface supports hundreds of sensors selected from the engine,transmission, ABS, airbag, and dozens of other systems. To help facilitate ease-of-use for this interface, we've allowed users to select as many sensors as they want. We also do not require that certain sensor groups to be selected in specific orders. We've also extended our support by allowing module coverage to be externally added by way of the Audi Information File (AIF). These files can be generated during a network test or during a module sensor mapping test and help extend the over all coverage of the interface untill such coverage can be built into the software. Many of the features that Audi/VW features offer are not consistent with other manufactures (i.e. Ford, GM) as they do not offer
component-level actuations and the sensors vary based on installed modules. Like most aftermarket Audi/VW tools, some of the sensor descriptions are missing, but data values can still be retrieved with basic descriptions. It is therefore strongly recommend to use a service manual alongside our tool while working on these vehicles.

On vehicle models from the E65 on, BMW is for the first time using fibre-optic cables as standard for communication between control units.
The optical buses are notable for their high data transmission rate and they are not susceptible to electromagnetic interference. The optical buses in question are the MOST bus, primarily used for in-car entertainment electronics, and the byteflight bus, which serves predominantly safety-critical functions.
OPPS has been designed for encoding, individualising and programming ( CIP) via the Software Service Station (SSS) and envisaged for use as part of the BMW diagnostic system (DIS) from DISPlus and Group Tester One (GT1). It is intended for testing and programming tasks from the E65 series, taking the place of the diagnostic head.

MUT-3 Description:

A personal computer (PC) is connected to the MUTIII unit and used as a system's control terminal, and communicates with a vehicle ECU through the VCI. In addition to being able to handle all diagnosis functions covered by the conventional MUT-II tester, the MUT-III system can display data as easy-to-understand diagrams and graphs on a large screen of the PC. Unlike the MUT-II, the MUT-III can retain data on all vehicles, from old to new models, classified according to destination in the PC's hard disk. This eliminates the awkward but essential job with the MUT-II, of switching the data list (communications protocol data and diagnosis item list database) by replacing the ROM pack with another according to the vehicle model and year model.

MUT-3 Function:

New functions that make use of the advantages of the PC are also being developed. For example, the workshop manual viewer is a useful function for mechanics as they no longer have to carry around a thick manual and search for relevant pages while working on a vehicle. The workshop manual viewer is currently available for certain vehicle models, and allows users to retrieve the pages containing the failure code for a particular problem at the push of a button.
